Our accommodation is to the highest standard. All hutches (inside and outside) are rubber lined or lined with lino for easy cleaning and to prevent any spills , urine and faeces from penetrating the wood. In between boarders all hutches will be cleaned of old bedding etc and steam cleaned (This makes sure that any possible small germ is removed) then disinfected, to avoid any possible cross contamination.
Each hutch has glass, double ball bearing (to prevent dripping) water bottles, each has a small yellow duck in, so the water content can be seen easily, all bottles are sterilised between visits. Every hutch contains a hay rack to keep that much needed hay off the floor to prevent it being soiled.
We tend to add to each hutch some cardboard tubes etc for them to chew or play with or natural wood for each rabbit/guinea pig etc: All outdoor hutches have storm/night time shutters, and rain canopys. In summer all hutches will be shaded from sunshine. We usually supply a litter tray as well all be it some may use these some may not. (in the litter trays we can either use shavings and hay or wood base litter please state at the time of booking your preference)
Our outside runs are set in our lovely garden and all animals will be invited daily for that much needed exercise. All runs have a rain shelter and 3/4 of the tops are covered as well to prevent them getting soaked in the rain and also to shade them from the sun. We have logs for them to jump over flat tree stumps to sit on, tunnels to play in lots of hay and fresh water and we usually pop some cardboard tubing in for them to throw about or chew, many times we have just crunched up some newspaper which they seam to play with quite happily as well.
We like to leave the pets in the runs for as long as possible so in the summer they stay out until early evening and in the winter just as it starts getting dark, we pop them back in night time accommodation. The only time we won’t put them in the runs is if there is driving rain as this would do our little ones no favours to get soaked.
Outside Lodge Sizes (outside) are 44″ wide 24″ deep and 20″(at least) high, inside we have 4 feet wide by 14″ deep and 5 feet wide by 14″ deep(normally using these for guinea pigs). Inside we have 3 extra large lodges which are ‘L’ shaped they are 6 foot across the back and 4ft down the side and 2foot deep(these are used for inside bunnies), we also have extensions on the 4ft and 5ft hutches(these also used for inside bunnies).
